SIROLaser Blue: with the Nobel prize in the background

“For the invention of an effective blue light emitting diode that can be a source of bright and energy-saving white light” – was the 2014 verdict of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, which awarded the Nobel Prize in physics to three Japanese scientists.

Science has quickly found its application in dentistry, specifically in dental laser therapy.

SIROLaser Blue – the world’s first blue laser diode, definitely had to be available in our clinic.

Why is it so special?

First and foremost laser treatment is absolutely painless. In addition, the blue LED enables faster and more accurate incisions thanks to the absorption of blue light in soft tissue while using a less powerful beam. This also means that the laser penetrates into the tissue to a smaller extent, thereby reducing the risk of accidental injury.

At Maestria we use it primarily for surgical treatment, endodontics, disinfection and biostimulation.

Why laser?

  • It has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-edema properties
  • It accelerates the regeneration of gums and significantly reduces the risk of infection
  • It is widely used in treatment of various oral diseases and is helpful in preventing them
  • It allows for shorter treatment time and, in some cases, reduces or eliminates pharmacological treatment
